Breakfast date

Mark and I went for a breakfast date to McDonald's after our phone call this morning. It was 50 degrees out, and I was quite comfy in the Camp Natoma sweatshirt.

When I downloaded these photos, I realized that I had pics of David and Holly on my camera. They came for dinner just before they left for Kansas. I talked with David this morning, and he says they are doing well.

I made a "Sunbeam dress" for Arora to wear to Primary. Bright yellow, of course.

Two cheesy smiles.

Snack time for Ender.

Happy Birthday, Nana Holman

...she would have been 102 today. I am sure you have been thinking of her!

Speaking of birthdays and such, I was looking through a photo album from 1990 this evening, and enjoyed seeing the photos from the Santa Maria family reunion again. I realized that you were the about the same age then that I am now. You looked so good, so young! Haha...I thought you looked kind of old at the time...but now I know better. :)

Saturday evening

Quiet and peaceful here at the house. Mark is grading papers, and I am settling in to prepare the Sunday School lesson for tomorrow. Waffles and bacon and eggs for supper. Just a quiet evening...

Kathy's busy day

Whew - I'll be hopping today. There are two different meetings at DHS for me to attend (one in the morning and one in the afternoon), and I start my 4-hour writing class at PSU tonight. Not to mention that we are back in the full swing of school, with students again today. (Yesterday was a work day.) I'll be leaving the house in a few minutes (6:30 am), and I'll be lucky if I'm home by 10:30 pm.

But I am SO grateful for my wonderful job, all of our beautiful grandchildren, and the opportunity to take writing classes at a nearby university. Life is full and rich, and I am a lucky girl.

Seeing Stars

Got up at 3:15 this morning to go potty, and saw something out the window that I've never seen before, in the 31 years I've lived in this house.

Cold, clear night.

Bathroom window - west side of the house - looking toward the backyard and the maple tree.

But the maple branches are bare in winter.

Looking out my window, I saw Orion's belt, shining in on me.

I thought that was cool.
